I am doing my critical review on Damian’s Blog, The D Minute. The vision and mission of this blog seems to want to show us the overspending of the government. The blog also wants to show us the corruption in the government today and his ideas on fixing this corruption. Staying within our class guidelines he is expressing his views and opinions in an educated and informed manner. I find the relevancy of the articles to be most illuminating. I like that we have a choice of videos to watch as well as topical articles. Damian seems to have a firm grasp of how our governmental system works and he shows this with insightful and interesting posts and links. I like how he not only writes about our homework, but he also writes about issues that affect us every day. It is almost as if he is running his own news column. It is very interesting, and exciting watching for what he is going to post next. I enjoy how sometimes he finds a cartoon or a video or sometimes it’s a news article. Not only does he post it, but he comments on it as well. One of the things that I would change would be the fact that there are ads on the blog. I think that if this were a personal blog then ads would fine, based on taste. However, this is a class blog and it may not be necessary for advertisements. I would also like to see him post something a little more positive on this blog. I find his posts to be well informed and very insightful, but maybe a little play or good news might be a fun. Having said this, I just realized that I haven’t done this myself on my blog either. I like Damian’s Blog and I look forward to reading it further. Damian’s blog is an excellent source for government information. I would read this even if I were not taking our American Government class. It is obvious that government is a passion of his and it flows into his Blog. He knows what he is talking about and it shows. This is an excellent blog.
